Hon. Supreme Court of India in a landmark judgement had laid guidelines for Police reforms to help improve Policing. Modiji had also expressed his intentions to improve Policing and had promised reforms. However in reality little has changed both at centre and sate levels Many of the recommendations of SC has been overlooked. There is a urgent need to implement reforms to Police to transform the Police department from being abused by ruling parties and to make them truly Peoples police.
