The scholarship is designed to provide OBC students with the necessary financial resources studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.The income ceiling of parents for eligibility stands at Rs 1 lakh per annum.

The value of scholarship disbursed would include maintenance allowance, reader charges for blind students, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges/thesis typing/printing charges and book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses . All the State Governments/UT Administrations will announce in May-June the details of the Scheme and invite applications by issuing an advertisement in the leading newspapers of the State and through other media outfits. All requests for application forms and other particulars should be addressed to the concerned State/UT to which students actually belong. The applicant should submit the completed application to the prescribed authority before the last date prescribed for receipt of applications.
